The Oberon Hard Cap is a TYPE 1 Hard Cap, which means it has been designed and tested to “reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow only to the top of the cap.
” A Hard Cap provides limited protection, but is not a substitution for “good safety practices and engineering controls”. The HC-6P cap is NOT a TYPE II cap, which means that they are not designed to provide protection against impact to the side, front or back of the cap.
